Description: Recombinant HIV-1 IIIB gag p24 is a cytosolic protein produced in the Baculovirus Expression System.
Purification: This protein is purified by cation/anion affinity and gel exclusion chromatography to >98% purity as determined by SDS-PAGE, reduced. Quantitative determination of the protein is based on a sandwich capture ELISA using a qualified p24 preparation as a reference. The capture ELISA is sensitive to 1pg of p24; 1ng/ml of p24 shows an O.D. of 1.0 at 405nm under standard ELISA conditions.
Specificity: This protein binds to murine monoclonal antibodies of defined epitope specificity and to rabbit and human serum polyclonal antibodies in ELISA and Western ELISA.
Biological Activity: Not Determined
Application and Instructions for use
Recommended concentrations for use are approximate values. A dose dependent response assay should be performed to determine the optimal concentration for use in specific applications. ELISA and Western ELISA may be performed at 10-100ng protein depending on the nature and affinity of the detection reagent. HIV-1 converted human serum polyclonal antibodies yield titers of up to 1:100,000 at 10ng of immobilized protein under standard ELISA conditions.
